Where does Carnosine come from?

• Animal Sources - Carnosine is mainly found in animal tissues like chicken, pork, and beef, especially in muscles and the brain. It's also present in smaller amounts in fish. Anserine, a related peptide, is more common in poultry and has similar properties.

• Produced in Humans - In humans, this dipeptide is made in muscles, the brain, and other tissues by an enzyme called carnosine synthase, which combines β-alanine and L-histidine.

• Lab-Made Carnosine - While carnosine is usually extracted from animal tissues, it can also be synthesized in the lab. One recent study showed that scientists could produce the dipeptide efficiently using whole-cell biocatalysts

A fullerene is a molecular. allotrope of carbon. After their discovery, minute quantities of fullerenes were found to be produced in sooty flames, and by lightning discharges in the atmosphere. Extracted from the soot using appropriate organic solvents and separated by chromatography.

Fullerenes can be synthesized in the laboratory.However, some forms are found in the natural world. They have been detected at low concentrations in stars and in interstellar dust; small samples have been detected in ancient rock sediments and near sites of meteorite impacts.

In skincare, we refer to fullerene as THE ultimate antioxidant ingredient, which means that it can protect our skin cells from free radicals. These free radicals that alter our DNA are primary causes for aging, cancer, and other diseases, so having an ingredient to protect against those is a must.

Compared to Vitamin C, Fullerene exhibits over 250 times the antioxidant activity, and crucially, it maintains this activity remarkably well after exposure to UVB radiation.
