Spicy Mayan Dirty Hot Chocolate
Temperatures here in the Northeast are dropping and it's easy to hibernate and lazy around. Why not get warm while staying energized with this spicy superfood hot coco recipe? Spice things up with a cup of this delicious healthy treat!
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp Raw Organic Coconut Butter
16 oz Nut Milk Of Your Choice (I used homemade almond milk for this recipe)
2 Tbsp Raw Organic Cacao
1/4 Tsp of Raw Maca PowderPinch Cayenne Pepper or Chili Powder
Pinch Ginger PowderPinch Cinnamon
1/4 Tbsp of Coffee (brew first) then add to mixture
1 Tsp Sweetener of Your Choice (I used 8-10 drops Vanilla and Maple Syrup)
Optional: Coconut whipped cream
1 Can BPA-Free Organic Coconut Milk
1 Tsp Vanilla + Sweetener of Your Choice to Taste
Directions:
1. Lightly heat your nut milk of choice on medium heat (to keep the nutrients in the milk do not heat above 118F).
2. Whisk all other ingredients into the pot and serve warm!
3. Whipped Cream Recipe- Pour contents of the can in a jar or glass container and leave in the refrigerator overnight to separate. In the morning scoop out the cream and blend until frothy and in a whipped cream-like consistency. Serve immediately. Top your hot chocolate with the cream and sprinkle some cacao nibs. Enjoy!
